Auto overclocking utility

Is there a video card overclocking tool which automatically applies overcloked core and memory speeds as soon as you launch a 3D game but keeps default clocks in 2D mode???

THANKS

You've got it backwards buddy. You've got a much greater chance of fucking your card up in Windows. It's much better to boot into DOS (floppy) and flash your BIOS. I am not too experianced with ATi on this matter however, and will leave the rest to someone else who is (although I am highly experianced with Nvidia BIOS flashing).

The only other advice I can give you is it's much better to have a BIOS flashed card with your clocks than having software do it for you, at least in my opinion.

It's safest to just boot to DOS and BIOS flash. BIOS flashes are meant for permanant residence in your video card's BIOS chip. Sure, you can re-flash, but if you already have clocks you like, just flash it. The most common BIOS flash predecures are for unlocking extra pipes, or flashing to a simply more powerful version of your card. Here you'll just be editing a BIOS and flashing with that.

And yes, it is possible to increace voltages in a BIOS flash. My advice to you is don't (at least for now).

Not definately. I know that usually video cards have a 2D/3D clock. Mine doesn't. If yours doesn't, no harm running it at 3D clocks all the time. There will be very little extra heat. The heat comes from the components being stressed.
