a question about monitor's resolution????
Hi members.
Just to ask What are the "generic" resolution of 1440X900???. I mean, 800X600 are compatible with 1024X768 and 1240X1024 an so on..., I ask you 'cause I have an LCD with max resolution of 1440X900 and for GAMING purposes I wanna LOW the resolution to achieve more fps and/or increase the game's settings but I need a compatible lower resolution 'cause (OF COURSE you already know) playing on 1024X768 the screen looks "different" on a wide-screen monitor. Thanx for your help.

The "native" resolution would be 1440X900
If you run anything lower than the native resolution on an LCD screen it will look a bit fuzzy and blurry... If you wanted to go lower, just go into the games graphics settings and use the resolution change function... it will have all the other listed resolutions. you want 16:10 aspect ration and anything from 1280X800 or 1280X720 These wont look as good though as your 1440X900 resolution.

since you have an Nvidia card, if you run the monitor on DVI you can choose the option "Do not scale" under "change flat panel scaling" in the nvidia control panel.
If you do this, you get black bars around the image similar to watching a DVD on a normal TV - the image doesnt stretch or blur, and you can lower the resolution for the older games, or those your system isnt fast enough to use at full resolution.
