TLB Errata, has anyone ever encountered it?

Hi to everybody,
I think everybody knows about the problem in L3 cache of new AMD Phenom processors. I'm very curious about it, is there anyone of new AM2+ Phenom users who really encoutered this problem while using any applications or playing games???

Thanks...

The error slows down the processor. You are not going to get any error on using the processor as far as I know. My friend got one recently.I'll let you know his experiences when I see it.

Probably doing FP calculations, or ray tracing, stuff that people usually dont do with their CPUs...

It affects only cache-intensive tasks like when encoding a large raw video file to a lossy compressed format plus ofcourse like tk pointed out, scientific apps where millions of instructions and data are cached when doing SIMD calculations where one calculation affects the result of another.

Are you planning to get one or already have one?
If you already have it then have downloaded the processor drivers and all from AMD website.
Else are you planning to buy one. At present the only reason to buy a Phenom is if you already have a AM2/AM2+ Motherboard. Its better to get an Intel setup. If you already have AM2 get a 6000+ black edition+a cooling fan and OC it. I think it reaches 3.2 Ghz and it is 150 USD.http://forums.techpowerup.com/showth...t=48484&page=4

Well i am running my Phenom 9500 @2530Mhz 24/7 and i play games, do multitasking watch HiDef movies and have not have any issues relating to the Errata problem. On Xtreme System where i am also a member and where there are more Phenom users non of us have experienced any problems due to errata .Myself and other users are not using the bios's where a person cannot disable the errata fix as a decrease in performance is clear. The current problem is the Motherboards or rather immature Bios's.

Thanks, guys!
I have 4200+ with epox mf570sli. Epox will not make any support any more, so I will have to change my system totally. I'm going to buy Phenom with MSI K9A2 CF, but think it will be better to wait for 9x50 series, so, no upgrade until march .... Still, no one experienced this problem, but people are saying like it is hanging when you move your mouse ...

I don't have a Phenom yet, but for those of you interested, the manufacturer of my motherboard, Gigabyte, has an option on the latest BIOS to turn on/off the TLB errata patch on AM2+ motherboards (like mine).

To be honest, I think this whole TLB errata has just been blown out of proportion. Typical home users aren't going to encounter this bug and it simply reminds me of the old errata intel had on an old Pentium where it improperly rounded numbers and they had to recall processors, even though hardly anyone encountered a problem.

As for my views on the Phenom itself, when it came out, I was thinking Q6600 was still the better call, but I just saw that the 9500 can be had on NewEgg for $184.99 w/free shipping using newsletter code: EMCABACBD. NewEgg is selling the Q6600 for $274.99 (or -$9 for OEM version). Now who has the better price/performance ratio (I'll lead that up to you all to decide)?

Yes as DaMulta stated his is running fine and so are mine. Yes the DFI and Asus also gives you the option to turn the fix off in the BIOS. MSI don't have this in their latest BIOS but most of us are running a beta bios which are the best at the moment. I also feel that this errata are blown out of proportion. Yes if you can wait buy the B3 revisions: 9550, 9650 or 9900 but the stock at newegg ,etc are really priced well and if you can't wait go for it. If you overclock a lot then rather wait for the updated revised mobo's and CPU's
