Unusual hdd or optical detection

I am putting together my old AMD64 computer with 2GB RAM, Abit Av8 motherboard, 6800GS(AGP) and a 300GB Sata150 hdd. Now upon bootup, it detects the ram and then it goes to find the IDE hard drives and optical drives. Since I have a SATA hdd it doesnt get to detect that just yet. I put the optical drives on IDE1 and IDE2 on the motherboard and I get what you see in the screenshot below. Any idea wtf is causing this?

On the motherboard I noticed that it is spitting out a code 75. According to the motherboard manual it states this: "Detect and install all IDE devices: HDD, LS120 (w/e that is), ZIP, CDROM..." Problem is, I have all that connected. I only have two IDE optical drives and one SATA and I cannot get into the BIOS because of this issue.

I wouldn't expect a mere hard drive detection issue to stop you from getting into your BIOS. Like Mandown said it should be possible to bypass detection for the purpose of BIOS entry, or you should just be able to wait for the function to time out.

If worse comes to worst, just disconnect all your hard drives so you can get into the BIOS and see what's up.

I have had the screen (see pic) sitting there since I made the initial post and it hasnt gone anywhere. Just sitting at the screen. And the HDD is unplugged.

You could have a keyboard problem I suppose. Check the keyboard's connection to the PC, and see if spamming a lot of keystrokes makes it beep.

Oh, and I'm unclear on the state of your optical drives. Disconnect them too if they aren't already.

Fixed. Come to find out, it was the damn optical drives. They were both set as master preventing the computer to boot correctly.

Shortly after finding out this issue, I still could not get one CD drive or the SATA hard drive to recognize in BIOS or even in POST. After two hours go by I tried a different cable for the HDD and a different cable for the optical drives. Needless to say, I through out the original cables.
