I'm not sure I'd trust that motherboard. I took a look on the ASRock website and they very glaringly omit any mention of exactly what type of PCIe slot is present on the motherboard. Since it's a dual-connection motherboard with both AGP and PCIe connectors it's not implausible that it really could be only PCIe 4x.

i believe GPU-z can tell you the answere (anyone clarify) because i was in the same boat and there is x16 on it so i asumed that it was it meant - i didn't really look.
so could try that.

Judging by the fact that they have a list of "Compatible PCI-E VGA cards" I would guess it is not a full x16 slot. Probably a x8 or x4 slot. However, I can't find anywhere that actually lists the specs.
Edit: After reading up on the PT880 Ultra chipset, the chipset seems to only have 4 PCI-E lanes. So the slot is x4.

It is. The 4CoreDual-SATA2 is just the 775Dual-VSTA with a different southbridge to allow SATAII. Also, the PT880 Ultra and Pro are the same chipset, but they just operate at different frequencies. They both suppor the same features, and both only have 4 PCI-E lanes IIRC.

You don`t really notice the difference , unless it`s a really high-end card .Likewise 8800 series won`t run at all
