USB 2.0 not working HELP!!!!!
after a full system format a few days ago i have only just got round to installing my ipod. And much to my disapointment i find that USB 2.0 isn't working and i only have usb1. This is annoying. I have searched about the internet and found that for windows xp is supposed to install them itself when service pack 1 is installed. i have service 2 installed. and i cannot find why my usb 2.0 isn't working. pls help

Me again
... Had the same problem, and there can be a few reasons. It has to be enabled in the bios on some boards, only certain ports on the computer support the usb2 (really dumb if you ask me), sometimes the windows usb2 drivers just don't work for it. Try those, one of them should work. ![]() -Dan |

So the ipod/computer isn't transfering at usb2 speeds? Go into you device manager and see if it shows the usb as usb2.

Try other ports, on some boards some of the ports won't support 480Mbit.

See if you can get drivers from MSI and install them. Even though XP says it has the drivers the ones from the manufactors should get it working if the windows ones don't.

I looked and i can't find any on the net for XP. Just go into device manager and update the driver file for the usb. The it will ask where it is, put your board cd in and let it search through the disk. It should find them, you may have to be a little for specfic for windows like showing it the usb file on the disk, then it should install the drivers.

you can't. windows wont let me. as soon as you click new hardware it just finds all the usb stuff and installs it itself. sometimes i really hate windows.
