Time Capsule Grants Wireless Backup for all Your Macs
Time Capsule is a revolutionary backup device that works wirelessly with Time Machine in Mac OS X Leopard. It automatically backs up everything on one or more Macs running in your house. The Time Capsule combines an 802.11n base station with a server grade hard disk in one small package. “Bring Time Capsule home, plug it in, click a few buttons on your Macs and voilà—all the Macs in your house are being backed up automatically, every hour of every day,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. When it ships in February, Time Capsule will be available in models featuring 500GB and 1TB hard drives for $299 and $499, respectively.

Me: Hello, whose this?
Big Brother: This is Big Brother, just making sure your files are backed up. Me: Cool. Sounds like a great idea, but I think I can do this on my own. Big Brother: No, let us. We can take your info and connect to the apple servers without you knowing it. Me: Hey, thats not very nice. So you'll copy everything right? Big Brother: You bet. Apple just used that better than PC thing because its the growing trend to bash what is different. We'll be sure to copy Trojans and worms along with it. Me: Hey, can't I just do that with a MyBook or a bunch of DVDs if im a little broke? That way I can copy all the important things and not bother with the OS/ Big Brother: No, we're Apple. You have to pay out the ass for our products, but they make you look cool and better than everyone else. We're like the BMW of computers. Me: But BMWs are for douches and people who are egocentric on their image. Big Brother: Yes, just like that. Where do you think they got the whole iDrive idea? Trendy huh? People seem to want to look cool and buy anything with "I" in front of an adjective. especially if it is in lower case. It makes it more trendy. Me: You know what, your right. I like your products. I'm sure they work the way they are suppose to. But you just cost to much. Big Brother: You bet. But just remember. BMW are support to be better because they are more expensive right? Plus, they make you look cool. Me: Your right. I just hate your hipster marketing and the fact you are a fashion icon and less of a product. Big Brother: Cool, well, I think I'll try and steal your girlfriend now. Me: Good luck, she uses Linux.

Yeah, Windows Home Server does that.
Im pretty sure MS had planned to make WHS compatible with Time Capsule too, but then Apple changed some essential part of how Time Capsule works... |

Microsoft does have this sort of thing. It is called Windows Homer Server. And it does more than that POS does for about the same price.
$526 for a barebones box 1.6Ghz C2D based Celeron 1Gb of RAM 2 500GB Hitachi drives Windows home server DVD-ROM drive Makes that box look weak.

Yes, but is it as elegant and work as well? Does it look as good? How big will that Home Server be? I've checked out Time Machine and have to say it is awesome. I have yet to find anything on the Windows side that works as well. (I use Ghost on my PC).

You speak of elegant as if Apple could attain such. Aluminum siding on your mac book is not elegant. Scuffed white peripherals are not elegant. A Starschmucks stain on some @ssholes shirt cause he can't afford to use the internet on his macbook at home is not elegant.
A box that you can hide and use for everything is elegant. A thin client that boots to a second partition on a box that also contains your DVD collection and those that you download and rips from those you rent is elegant. Apple has a following of people who fantasize that their product is a conversation starter/piece of interest to anyone they see, when most don't give a shit other than to realize that you are either a schmuck, have too much money, or that is all that you could afford after attending liberal arts while delivering pizzas in your mom's car. I don't want to see, hear, smell, taste, or touch my box other than to insert things in, and take them out. So thereby i can't kiss apples butt.

Haha, people on this forum do the same thing. But instead it's people think they are l33t because they have custom rigs. It's all the same, just different perspectives.
