I'm happy with my 3210 @3.2 allday 1.2 cpu volts with a rosewill cooler only up to 60c full load. When i figure out why i only have two cores past 500fsb it will be sweet!!Also i havent tested any lower than 1.2 volts yet wouldnt suprize me if it was stable 1.1 this is a sweet chip for the price. With my motherboad i set the ram to the lowest crank the fsb up 400=ddr800 and put +.1 volts on the cpu that easy for 3.2.
???going for the top10 in the 06 thread?? |

Xeon all the way! They get a few less FPS due to being mainly for servers but they are really rugged. Its like the Q6600 is a cat and the X3210 is a dog, the cat is faster but the dog is stronger and can still run fast.
Wow im board. |

quad would be faster at everything but you could try something new.

Hmm... I like faster, but the 8400 could hold me over until the 45nm quads are out.

Well if your waiting for the 45nm quads get somthing cheap like a E4500 or somthing to tide you over and keep the money you were gonna use on the Q6600.

Well if you want speed now now get a X3210. If you wait a bit I think the cheap 45nm quads are coming soon but not sure.

I think I'm going to side with the mooning lepperchaun and go with the Q6600. I can get one cheaper than the x3210.
I want to make sure I have a quad when I get my HD 3870X2 anyways!

I included some screen shots
This was my normal clock I used on my x3210 I just sold was 3.7ghz but it did 3.85ghz. I bought a E8400 just to try something different because I like to play. The four cores on a x3210 with 8 mb of on chip memory will beat the hell out of a E8400 with 6 mb unless you can get a 4.7ghz clock on air 24/7 then It might be close. You can get one here for 143.00 http://clubit.com/product_detail.cfm?itemno=CA1938012
and even better idea is a X3220 it will hit 4.0ghz on all four cores I'm betting the FSB on my x3210 was holding me back If it would have had a x9 it would have gone higher http://clubit.com/product_detail.cfm?itemno=CA1938011 277.00 and if you look in the specs it's a go too here are the spec with the stepping on this chipXeon X3220 GO Processor Specifications:sSpec Number: CPU Speed: PCG: Bus Speed: Bus/Core Ratio: L2 Cache Size: L2 Cache Speed: SLACT 2.40 GHz 1066 MHz 9 8 MB 2.4 GHz Package Type: Manufacturing Technology: Core Stepping: CPUID String: Thermal Design Power: Thermal Specification: VID Voltage Range: LGA775 65 nm G0 06FBh 100W 85°C1.100V-1.372V Product Documentation: http://www.intel.com/products/proces...umentation.htm Product Order Codes: Box Order Code: BX80562X3220 OEM Order Code: HH80562QH0568M Supported Features: Quad Core Enhanced Intel Speedstep® Technology Intel® EM64T 1 Intel® I/OAT Intel® Virtualization Technology Enhanced Halt State (C1E) Execute Disable Bit 2 Intel® Thermal Monitor 2 Notes: Intel® Core™2 Quad Processor Q6600 GO How Do I Use This Tool? don't do that get a x3220 or a x3210 they are better. Most Q6600 need a giant amount of voltage to break a 450FSB and a X3210 or 3220 will go well past that on a bunch less voltage, plus a x3210 can be had for 243.00 and a X3220 GO for almost the same price as a Q6600. plus the X3200 series can take 85c and the Q6600 only 71c. so even at 70c or higher a X3220 will run fine a Q6600 is near death at 71c
