should I do this?

I really like the way this guy modded his case and im thinking it would help with air flow and noise so I want to do it. The only thing I might not do is mod the filter doors like he did unless somebody convinces me that it will make a significant difference. The one thing I do want do do is cut the screen from the case that is for the fan that blows upward at the top of the case, he didnt do this because he has no fan there, but I want to keep my fan there.
What do you think? Here it is. http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums...ic.php?t=42020

I think it looks like a great idea. The filter doors would be a decision that only you could make based on how dusty your environment is AND how frequently you maintain the interior of your PC.

I say, "Go for it!"

yeah, I do like what he did to the doors and I do keep the inside pretty clean, mayabe every two weeks I cleen the filters and blow out the inside, so it pretty much stays spotless. The only thing is the way the doors are now actually catches some of the dust because of that lip on them, I'll think about it, but it seems it would let the front fans pull more air in to equal what the fans that blow out are doing, and also might reduce some of the noise caused by the air flowing through them.

Yeah, depends on the material. That cellular stuff can get kinda "whooshy" (is that a word?)

I have always used brass screen (like for screen door repair). Works great! The movement of air actually charges the screen so it picks up more dust than you think! Cheap and it cleans up super-easy!

The look of the case is great! I think you should do it! its not hurting anything if you do. All that it will do is make it cooler for ya. IMO

hmm, never thought of that, the screen filter material seems to be like steel mesh, it does clean easy, I just run it under the faucet from the inside out. I definately want to keep the filters on though as they do catch a lot of dust, i've seen some people take them out.

yeah, I dont know why but I think the screen being removed from the back of the case looks awesome, it might be the fact that he put that rubber type trim around where he cut, and the fan being totally exposed looks cool.

the whole look of the screen looks pretty nice. he did a great job. And, the more ability for air flow the better off the system will be... so i think you should do the WHOLE thing and the mod your talking about

ha ha, if I screwed one up that would be a hard decision since I have a fry's here that carrys that case and has them on display. Funny thing is, when you look at the display models you can see that people have already done that. I dont think I could though.
