question about RAID

Hi

thinkg about getting raid

i have a:

Western Digital 320GB Sata-2 7200RPM 16MB

the model number is WD3200KS, its quite old, but the new version im thinking of buying for raid is:

Western Digital 320GB Sata-2 7200RPM 16MB

this is the same spec but the model number is WD3200AAKS

i want to know if this will be a problem for Raid 0 because it is difficult and expensive to find the oringinal version of my hard drive

Thanks

If you do a RAID 0 with one old drive and one new drive, count on it failing and taking everything (files, programs, etc.) with it.

Drives are fairly cheap now. Just buy another new drive for you RAID and use the older drive for backups.

really don't see much of a problem yes it may fail sooner but who knows I have a used 150 raptor and a new one about 8 months diffrence but If I worry about everything in the future
I won't get anything done now just keep a good backup on dvd and let her rip.
