Router Trouble - Can't host servers
Hey guys,
I got a D-Link DSL-G604T... I've configured it so my system is using a static IP, and when I tell that IP to run in the DMZ, it says it is, but I can't run a game server, which is what DMZ is supposed to let you do. Any ideas?

the best combination of mapping the ports to your servers ip address is a DMZ config and also port forward them too.

Sometimes DMZ forwarding doesn't work as the next hop to the ISP filters ports left open, thus making the attempt at forwarding invalid. So try this. http://www.no-ip.com/services/manage...namic_dns.html

if you set a DMZ then it will forward all packets from the internet to that ip, so that ip would be as if it wasnt behind a router.
that would let you host things on that computer only. and it might negate all of your port forwards, depending on the software, honestly... if your gonna host a server and you have a real router, just forward the ports you need to the computer thats hosting it yay [consumer routers crash easily so good luck unless u got some good software] |
