LCD custom resolution...

Hey there guys, just got a temporary LCD panel from my folks, and gonna use it til I earn my self a new panel...

Is there a way to use higher res than 1024x768 on this 15" samsung sync master? With 4:3 aspect too.

Would it wreck or break the panel?

Just a noob when it comes to LCD's lol.

I don't think it's possible to put it on a higher resolution. I can't do it anyway. They're pretty much built for one resolution. You CAN use lower res but it looks kinda bad. That's the downside, old games become much older on flat screens.

Awee.. Thanks mate.. Just tried experimenting with Nv Control panel and used custom res.. but alas can't go anyfurther.. everything was signal lost, lol but it ran 13**X*** can't remember and gave a funny output while playing video, it wasn't full screened.

crt's too. looks crappy.

So I'm stuck on 1024x768 til I get better lcd... Wasn't hoping for uber high res only 1280x***

No? If you play say the first Command & Conquer it looks a lot better on a crt than a TFT. Also Knights of the Old republic, wich can only go up to 1280*960, but 1024*768 looks a lot better on a CRT than on a 1280*1024-TFT.

I'm gonna use higher res for destop/surfin/iming only not gaming lol, It'd kill my system rofl... 1024x768 for gaming or 800x600 lol would do
