The chance is not fantastic but with these Config Substrate: "0xFFFFFF1E" probably something could happen. I would recommend to try connecting the bridge. If you done it please post again the fuses.

Sounds nice. Will give it a try. I was wondering about the 0xEFF37FFF and thought, that there won't be a chance.
The clock speeds for XT PE level is no problem at all. I am currently at 530 GPU and 630 RAM (Temperature 42°C)

Success--800GTO runs like an XT--and a question
I have a new Sapphire "blue" x800 GTO AGP with an R480 chip. Added a (modified) Arctic Silencer 5 and used dolf's bios mod (thanks!!) to open 16 pipes successfully. (Fuses were all F's; xxx9F as described in here.) ATItool got me to 531/594 MHz separately, but longer time at 520 MHz GPU or 550 MHz memory causes crashes (at ~ 60 C). So I think I'll hold with the 500/500 and load that bios.
Does the BIOS also have to be patched to get the card recognized as an XT? Or do games just try to run it as fast as possible, using the frame rates available from the hardware and GTO OC'd bios? BTW, if it matters, I seem to be stuck on v. 6.6 Catalyst drivers--later ones hang my computer in standby and kill my screen rotation. |

That makes sense--all my core overclocks ended with a hard crash, which seems like power available to the card. I'll stay at 500/500 with the OC1 bios. Thanks for the help and the firmware!

Does that apply to x800 pro VIVO AGP too....Does it also have 3 mosfets instead of 4(as in regular x800xt).....and i'm putting my card on stress by running it with x800xt bios w/ 16 pipes and higher speeds(500/500)... which it is not designed to handle..

X800PRO VIVO in fact is X800XT / PE and it has 6 mosfets (originally). X850 Series has 8 mosfets (the 12 pipe cards usually have 6 instead 8). 6 mosfets are absolutely enough for 16 pipes and X850XT PE speeds (I had X800XT PE which worked with 570/600MHz). It is not problem to run with 16 pipes on board predicted to feed only 12 but the heat dissipated in the mosfets if higher and it would be good idea to cool them with heat sink. It could be problem at higher speeds because the power supply circuit is not so stable like it has to be.

![]() So i assume, this card is exactly same as x800xtpe....just downclocked and some pipes disabled for probably marketing reasons?? Actually just was a little bit more concerned about my x800pro as this card dosen't have any warranty...so just wanted to make sure, i don't stress it too much, that's why i'm running only on XT speeds, i'm pretty sure this card can go upto XTPE speeds or even higher as it looks identical (and has the same cooler w/ copper base) as the orignal BBA x800xtpe.. |

Dolf, can you edit the X850XT BIOS you gave me (in the bootable ISO image) and make the core/mem clocks 500/520 respectively and upload it back?
I flashed my card with the X850XT bios, and it worked! But in Vista, for some reason, I can't run the core at 520MHz. It's unstable. Could be a driver issue. Anyway, I would appreciate if you can do this for me. I'd be very happy if you can give me it in an ISO image. |

Sorry, its me again
I read of people where only the substrate fuses changed. The die fuses not. Config DIE Fuses: 0xEFF37FFF und Config Substrate 0xFFFFFF1E What bios do I have to flash? I got the 2.0 memory. Thanks! |

Absolutelly right in 99.9% of the cases no change in the DIE fuses. But there is one case (I can't find it in the forum) in which the connection of both bridges resulted in DIE fuse change (it deppends on a bottom side bridge configuration). At present you dont need to flash or if you want flash X850XT or X850XT PE BIOS and the result will be X850XT / PE but with 12 pipes (be carefull with the fan with single slot cooler).

will give it a try.The card is from 2005 and has a red pcb. I will flash the x850 bios, because of the ram timings. At least I can mod it to a x850Pro. The fan is no problem, because I'm using a self-made watercooling for mem and gpu

just found the case you mentioned. He "reanimated" 3 (!) cards by bridging the lasercut. But all of them had an E instead of my 7 in their die fuses.
Do I get a performance-gain by using a X850XT-PE bios? I looked around and nowhere was mentioned for what GPU they are for.

They are for AGP (R481) or PCI-E (R480) be careful prior to flash and check the GPU type first

thank you dolf
Thanks dolf, I flashed may BIOS again and this time seems to be stable. Can you tell me why I have mem&core frequencies that low ?? Is like I have a x800 non pro instead of a x800gto.
Peace!
