I'll second that, but on a decent resolution at max everything you need a pretty decent card but in it's full glory little will touch it IMO, was just playing it and it is seriously tasty!

For the time that it came out, I'd have to say HL2. But now I have to say more so as UNreal. Crysis is beautiful game, and I won't knock it as being one of the best looking. But you have so much going on in Unreal Tournament 3, that its a wonder how the Card can keep up. Plus you have to download the Ageia physX just in order to play the game. Thats something else in my book.

Witcher has awesome graphics, but some of the worst controls lol
Unreal has ALWAYS been my favorite!!! the last time i play unreal 3 was about 2 months ago, on my 1950 pro, ( I was only getting about 40fps on high) I can't wait to see what it looks like when i get my 3870 lol Last edited by CrackerJack; Mar 9, 2008 at 07:08 PM. |

A few of my cousins had it and said it was pretty good, but since they found out that people started cheating in that game, they sold it immediately. IMHO, I wouldn't get it either if there are rampant cheaters, just reminds me of Diablo2.

No 2 worlds is not a good game. My buddy bought it for 360 and has regretted it ever since. He's been trying to play it, but it is just too boring.
![]() Friend = RPG and MMO fanatic though, so harsh towards games like these.

Odly i think the bf2 engine has alot of potential. if EA had done it right and spent more time the game would have been amazing. ie project reality made perfect work out of that engine. and yes source engine is amazing as well. i just wish they would impliment some of the ranking systems from team fortress 2 and episode 2 shadows to counter strike. it would be nice to see some kind of additions to an almost perfect game. unreal engine 3 is beautiful also.

I vote CoD4 because to me it not only displayed a grittyness of battle and war torn landscapes of varying locations, but the lighting, shadows, and overal aura brought from the game helped with the in-depth feeling one got when first playing the game. The graphics are pretty damn good, yet the graphics engine can scale decently enough that lower-end PC's can still get some decent eye-candy and enjoy the gameplay. Something a few other games failed at...and even fewer games that have a different style of graphics did worse on which probably didn't help with sales.
CoD4 brought the right mix if grit, pixels, and eye-candy to the party for it's release to give it popularity, support and enjoyability at many levels, that's why I support it. If Crysis scaled a bit better I would have it in this spot, but because of it's lackluster scaling, and to me it seems more of a benchmark worthy game than a players game (IMO), I'll stick to the demo of it if I need my fix. I look forward to what the next few years brings us since video power is almost doubling every 2 years or so it seems, graphics technology is going to get more and more interesting and in the end...very sweet!

They've done so much with the series that who to say if there is or isn't one. Infinity may not do it, but that doesn't mean someone else will come in and try. 4 was a great game, and one of the toughest Vet. to even play! Halo 3 on Leg. was easier then COD 4!

Yeah I forgot too...but in the end we can look forward to IW maybe either getting involved with 5 through some sort of contract issue, or maye even CoD6...or a different FPS game that IW creates! The future could lead to some interesting games...and I hope it does!

I would probably say COD4 if your talking realism. And I would go with Bioshock for artistic graphics (artsy and beautifully twisted). Both on the unreal engine. By the way if anyone is looking for a break from the norm as far a fps and hasn't tried bioshock yet, give it a try.
HL2's engine is also damn impressive. The graphics on the original are still pretty great, even by today's standards. When Mass Effect comes to the comp, that might look pretty amazing. Last edited by farlex85; Mar 9, 2008 at 08:41 PM. |

I thought CoD4 used a proprietary graphics engine. It doesn't look very Unreal-esque if you know what I mean.

it does. Unreal Warfare Engine 3.0 is awesome not only is the technology impressive but it's developer friendly with UDN and UScript.
upcoming games using the engine: Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction (Ubisoft) Aliens: Colonial Marines (Gearbox) Borderlands (Gearbox) Brothers in Arms Hell's Highway (Gearbox) Gears Of War 2 (Epic) DC Comics MMO (Sony Online) Americas Army 3.0 (US Army) Tom Clancy's Endwar (Ubisoft) Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6: Vegas 2 (Ubisoft) Tiberium (EA) Turok (Propaganda) Huxley (Webzen) Mortal Kombat 8 (Midway) - Christine |
