Corsair Announces World's First High-Performance Mac Memory Upgrade Modules
Corsair announced today the world’s first high performance memory modules made especially for the Mac. The new Corsair memory modules are the industry’s first low latency modules specifically tuned for the new MacBook and MacBook Pro laptop computers.
Memory bandwidth has a critical impact on the performance of many of the advanced computing applications used by Mac consumers. Corsair’s Mac Memory features special Serial Presence Detect (SPD) profile characteristics, so that Macs can self-configure for optimal performance for critical applications. Corsair Mac Memory has been benchmark tested on:
Testing has demonstrated that as much as a 28% overall system performance improvement is achieved with the new Corsair low latency memory modules versus standard Mac upgrade memory. “The Corsair brand is synonymous with high-performance PC memory modules,” said Jack Peterson, VP of Corporate Marketing at Corsair. “These Mac Memory SODIMMs featuring new SPD settings in conjunction with our high-quality standard chip screening process allows Corsair to offer the first ever enhanced performance laptop memory for Mac,” added Peterson. "Mac Memory" is such a scam. Of course lower latency is going to perform better, and it will cost twice as much as the equivalent "PC Memory".

Mac=High Performance? When has that ever been used in same sentence, if they are so powerful why cant they run windows yet PCs can Run Darwin (Mac-OS)

Every1 knows the advantages of low latency memory - less clock cycles to strobe, precharge bascialy GET bits to and from memory quicker. I am glad that corsair have developed sum so called "mac Cert" memory with tighter timings in there SPD. Just go easy on the mac bashing - I know every1 likes doining it, TBFH I was like that once - stupid mac blah blah - DO not buy 1 else u will become 1! They will infect you with a virus that causes you to tell every1 how they need also to purchase 1 not for need of use but so called self betterment. Nuf Sed |

Ummm, do you even know anything about modern macs? Boot Camp allows you to run Windows natively on a mac. Not in a virtual machine, as in actually boot to Windows, just as you do on your PC. As far as whether or not they are powerful, the base model MacPro comes with two 2.8Ghz Intel Quad core xeons.

no. it's way better because apple made it. Too bad I'm not allowed to buy a mac yet. I don't own a blazer, I don't smoke pot, I'm not a tree hugger, I don't own or want a Prius, I don't hang out at the local coffe shops every weekend, and I'm not voting for Hillary Clinton.

Some more good news. And the best part is that the Corsair ram is available outside the usual Mac dealers.
I recently upgraded the memory on my macbookpro, and paid R320 for 1gig SO-DIMM. The same spec ram is between R1300 and R1500 from the mac shops. Some intelligent shopping can do wonders! It's so handy having common hardware these days.

Also why do people think mac users are hippies with hybrids>?? I dnt know any1 like this - I suggest useless comments like this be placed to better use Like rinsing DELL users - U support the devil - YAY for worst support and quality known to man! |
