DIMM question

Hey ALL,

I would like to know if it woyld be ok to install 2 1GB sticks in DIMMs 3 & 4 instead of 1 & 2, will i keep dual channel and would there be any performance loss? Reason i ask is because my mobo manual says they should go into DIMMs 1 & 2. I need to move the RAM into 3 & 4 so i can install the TT Cyclo memory cooler, it won't fit into the first 2 DIMMs cause the CPU fan is in the way.

I agree with Ehstii. But to make for sure, run some ram benches before and after to see if theres any difference.

So long that 3/4 are in dual channel it wont make a difference, some have it set up to 1/3 or 2/4 (whatever your colors or mobo suggests) will work.

I had mine in 3 & 4 for the same reason as you. No issue at all
