what is the differwnce between static ip and dynamic ip
which of them i need to open apore in my router
how can i know it???????????????

Your internet service provider (ISP) will have issued you an external (what we see) IP address. this will be either:

A) Static, as in that it will never change and always be the same (great for hosting/gaming online)

B)Dynamic, the IP address will by dynamically changed depending on what your ISP gives you for your IP address. This is fiddly if you need a set internet "location"

If you have a dynamic IP address and need a static, you can use services like No-ip.com to give yourself a static location.

Both static and dynamic will require you to open./forward ports if you are using a router:

that site is usually pretty up to date. Find out who the maker of your router is and go from there. Port Forward tells you how to do everything you need to set up a router. Dynamic changes everytime you connect to the internet, or everyday or after the lease for one ip is up, it all depends on your ISP. Static is always constant, great for downloading torrents and the like. Most ISPs stateside and abroad, have set static ip addys for us and other websites to see (hence, 65.113.23.129, etc).

If you dont find your make and model in there, get the manufacturer of it and work from there. It will pretty much be the same. Also, they have a forums area I believe. But setting up a static ip is easy.

With static you should be able to get the IP to change as well if needed. BUT with company's like Comcast it will take about 2-3 day of either not using your system or setting your router up manually.
