New System

and I'm itching to start OC'ing it. Should I hold off a few days to make sure everything is working right, or is now just as safe a time as any to start? The rig is in my system specs, this thing will be a beast when I get it OC'ed. Hell, it scores 15076 on 3dmark06 as is.

damn thats a pretty nice stock score, what you waiting for man oc the shit outta that rig lol, i dont normally wait, aslong as all my stock temps are fine and everythings running as it should theres no need to give it a week to settle in as ive heard other people say b4, cant understand that logic tbh, maybe an hour of good hard gaming and then your ghonna know wether its stable or not. although when installing things these days i usually take my time and do it properly so i dont have to come on here and post "oh noes my new build not working " and then spend a further 2 hours stripping things down and checkingg/rechecking etc to find out somthing isnt seated correctly etc etc good luck

I second that, when I got my AMD X2 5000+ BE, I started OCing it right away (did a quick boot into windows after swapping out CPU's just to be sure it was all good). I also think I read somewhere that it can help with the cure time of AS5 if thats what you used, if not, well then you should be set to go.

god man, clock that thing up. I usually make sure everythings works, prime the stock cpu for an hour to burn it in & then go at it. That 8400 should do 4ghz pretty easily on air.
