should i install DX9 with 3dMark06 installation in Vista 64bit ?

as the title says, is it necessary to install dx9 as vista already has dx10 .

i didn't install dx9 whileinstalling 3dmark , and now its not running , says some dx9 file is missing.

there was an article that by installing dx9 , dx10 will not work or something .

It won't hurt anything...I installed the most recent DX9 release (Mar 08, iirc), it'll update the DX9 area of Vista...won't affect DX10/10.1. At least that's how I understand it from my experience in Vista and DX9/10.

I didn`t notice any difference. Is it a recent copy of 3d mark ?

It'll be fine. Wont mess anything up. I have the latest DX9 installed and can play DX10 just fine. It cant overwrite DX10 dll's if there isnt any for DX9 to overwrite.
