Logitech Delivers Tenth Consecutive Record Year with Strongest Q4 Ever

Logitech International today announced record Q4 sales and profits, delivering its tenth consecutive year of double-digit revenue growth and reaching its full year revenue and profitability goals.

For the fourth quarter of Fiscal Year 2008, ended March 31, 2008, sales were $601 million, up 17 percent from $513 million in the same quarter last year. Operating income was $66.1 million, up 20 percent from $55.3 million for the same quarter a year ago. Net income was $60.3 million ($0.32 per share), up from $56.2 million ($0.29 per share) in the prior year. Gross margin was 35.6 percent, compared to 34.5 percent in Q4 of FY 2007.

Logitech’s retail sales for Q4 grew by 15 percent year over year, increasing by 13 percent in EMEA, 8 percent in the Americas, and 58 percent in Asia Pacific. Across Logitech sales regions, retail growth was fueled by strong sales of cordless mice (up 58 percent) and speakers (up 24 percent). Retail video sales grew by 9 percent. OEM sales grew by 34 percent, driven primarily by strong demand for microphones for console gaming.

For the full fiscal year, sales were $2.4 billion, up 15 percent from $2.1 billion in FY 2007. Operating income was $287 million, up 24 percent from $231 million a year ago. Net income was $231 million ($1.23 per share) compared to $230 million ($1.20 per share) in the prior year. Gross margin for the fiscal year was 35.8 percent, compared to 34.3 percent in FY 2007.

“We are very pleased with our Q4 performance, including our return to growth in the video category,” said Gerald P. Quindlen, Logitech president and chief executive officer. “Our revenue growth of 17 percent underscores the strength of our product portfolio and our geographic diversity, both key factors in our ability to deliver consistent growth over the last decade. The strong momentum we carry into the new fiscal year, combined with a solid balance sheet, position us to continue delivering double-digit growth in sales and profitability.”

More power to Logitech

They have one of, if not THE best, customer supports from personal experience. As the company continues to grow, I hope the way they do their customer support will never change

I've got a Logitech mouse and headset. Both are flawless.

Seems they do a very small amount of things poorly.

Ive have a Logitech -

-LX300 K&M set
-LX3000 K&M set
-Precision Gaming Headset
-G7 Cordless Gaming Mouse (which is one of the best mouses ive ever used if u can live with the constant recharging of battry packs - pitty it got discontinued before the launch of the G9 gaming mouse)

Im also planing to pick up one of their 5500 5.1speaker kits to replace my shitty creative set in the near future & possibly one of their new gaming keyboards

Logitech are awesome...just wish they were a little cheaper

::EDIT::

forgot to add that i also have a Logitech Extreme 3d Pro joystick :P ahhh memories of BF2!!!!

Let me be the one to crash the party by saying their drivers suck!
I have a MX1000 mouse and it's almost impossible to use the setpoint drivers on WinXP64 or Vista64. This problem has been present in their drivers for some time now, but they failed to fix it. They have some lame excuses on their support forum. Shame!

we use logitech equipment here at socom, and added to the fact that they have a good wide selection of mice, including the g9, widely known as one of the best mice available, logitech is one of my favorite companies. I just wish more people would make keyboards that looked nice like the saitek eclipse.

I hate Logitech. I bought a $30 headset and it broke in less than 2 months. I decided to try again with an MX 500 mouse and it began to rattle itself loose and came apart within a month. I will never buy any POS Logitech product again. Besides, Razer > Logitech.

Im sorry that you feel that way. I abuse my products from logitech pretty heavily, maybe you should abuse yours a bit more, maybe they feel neglected. . .

I've always loved Logitech.

Logitech MX700 Duo (keyboard, mouse)
Logitech MX Elite keyboard (white, wired)
Logitech MX Elite keyboard (black, wired)
Logitech wireless mouse
Logitech wireless notebook mouse

My college roommate got the z-680 5.1 speakers and I hated the sub. It was muddy and only had two options--no bass and too much bass. That was my first impression of their speakers, so I went with Klipsch.

My parents have the 9000 Pro webcam, which I set up for them. Very nice webcam.
