4GHZ of core 2 and 2xG92 should be enough to satisfy just about any gamer, with just about ANY game (naturally crysis excluded) you should be able to play at 2560x1600 +4xAA +16xAF. whats to upgrade?

I was just wanting to make sure I wasn't missing something.
A soundcard isn't necassary. I live with my elderly grandfather who goes to bed very early(5 pm sometimes) and usually use my headphones to prevent disturbing his sleep. |

Replace your 2 x 512Mb sticks with 2 x 1Gb sticks, and tighten up your timings

Onboard audio sucks even for headphones!Start with a 30 creative card and you'll never go back for games with headphones or music and speakers!!Also is you have cheap headphones you might not hear the difference.

Agree with the 3 gigs (though I do run 4). You can definately tighten up your timings though.

it would seem you researched and built wisely...a while ago i splashed and built a nice rig (see sig) and i knew it would last me a while and have good upgradability, for now it seems your rig is pretty complete for some while to come...start looking at your imput peripherals, desk and chair and headphones, if they do not reflect the quality of your system spec make them.
i tend to worry less about upgrades and am able to get on with the task/game at hand better from my comfy velour perch than if i had the latest whatever and was sitting on a crate (not to imply you sit on a crate) also whilst basking the warmth of a high specced rig for a while its time to start thinking(obsesivley) aboout case optimization, airflow, choice of colour, metallic, gloss or satin...is my monitor high enough off the desk, room acoustics, power and lan cable tidyness...and the list goes on. 1. You may upgrade to 64-bit later on. 2. it's a lot harder to tighten timings with 2 sets of sticks of differing densities. Tighter timings = better performance. At the moment you are running ridiculously loose timings for 950. I'm running 1200 at 5-5-5-15, quite a bit tighter than yours. |

I guess water cooling and a new case to mod will be my next step.
I got to reasearch tightening up my RAM timings before I start to mess with it. I am new to OC'ing. Don't worry azazel, I didn't take what you said in the wrong way. It's all good |

You know they might be onto something about a soundcard though. It would actually increase performance a little by taking some of the load off of the CPU. You do have a hungry GPU to feed after all :P
