When you say pins, do you mean push pins? If it is then you don't have to worry about it. If the pins refer aas nails or screws then take out the screws, center the fan, and install it again. And it is highly recommended that you put in all 4 screws since in times the cooler can fall off and damage other stuff besides the mobo.

Is the pins black cover turned the correct way...One way it will stay in place and lock into the mobo, turned 90* to one way it is set to release(so it wont stick in the hole of the mobo!).

ensure you have the pin sitting in the right direction (look at the arrow on top).

I had that problem once and as soon as i took the mobo out i could support the mobo behind so it wont break while i pushed hard and it worked, try installing the heatsink with mobo outside the case.

So you are saying stock? Then read these instructions on installing the cooler:

Quote:
The stock cooler and thermal paste should suffice.

It takes a lot of force to get the intel push-pins in correctly. My father's build was idling at 55 C or so, and it turned out the heatsink wasn't on 100%. We removed the mobo and the cpu from the case, and got 3 of the pins on, then setup a support underneath the mobo to push the last pin in. I believe you should start with opposite corners for your first two presses.

To recap:
1) Remove cpu from mobo, and mobo from case.
2) setup a support under the mobo cpu socket
3) double check that the locking part of the push-pins are pushed out correctly
4) press in one corner, then its opposite, then the other two.
5) if you have trouble with the last one, sometimes pressing between thumb and forefinger will help. BUT DON'T PRESS TOO HARD

Crooked at all will raise temps. If you really can`t get it in then do what echo75 said and install outside case.

Then the solution is to wait until everything ships and test it out.... And do you have any extra money you buy a bolt kit?

Or try it out on a older system.

NOTE: For some reason I can't click the smilies or insert hyperlink/images.

Oops I didn't make a clear enough. I really meant 2 cores or lower.

EDIT: Something I've noticed today. All system specs drop down button is all unavailable.

Theres also another way. Open up 2 orthos'. Then go to task manager > processes. Then right click the first orthos can set affinity. Disable 2 of the either cores. Right click the other orthos process and disable the other 2 cores that you didn't disable before.
