everything works but can't connect to server

When I use a browser(Firefox) to go to a page, its says ". . .cannot connect to server" but only by going to a new page. If I go back to my previous page from the new one and forward to the new page, I see the new page fully loaded. Also, the pages I was viewing in my last session shows the page. It was working a few minutes before and all my hardware are working properly. So I unplugged and replugged my ethernet wire, replugged my router and now it works. It gave me a different IP address. Why did this happen? Thanks

System Specs

router crashed? windows being stupid? im guessing the router though, a power cycle(off-on) usually solves most issues
