Difference of 2 sets of Corsair memory

So I am looking to upgrade my ram, currently using 2x2GB Patriot Signature Line and I would like some memory that is a bit more popular and known about. I was looking at a set of Corsair XMS2 DHX from Microcenter (cheaper AR than newegg) but noticed a similar set with lower latencies on newegg for a good price too. I was wondering what the difference between the two is beyond the lower latencies. First link is the set I can get at microcenter, second is the lower latency. Thanks!

Get the 2nd one: timings!

I have corsair DHX too, though only 2 * 1. Mine are rated @ 800 with 4-4-4-12 but i ran them @ 940 with 4-4-4-10. Dunno if i can go higher with them, though!

However, being 2 * 2, you won't have as good OC as you would with 2 * 1 because 2 * 2 are harder to OC, or so i have been told!

I would say go with the second one too.. The timings would be good for the first ones if your ram was PC8500 1066, but I don't think so much with it being PC6400 800

I can't be sure, the sticks I have in their now I have gotten to post and load windows at 800MHz at stock timings (5-5-5-15) with upping the volts to 2.1v (thank god they have heatspreaders), so as far as OCing 2x2GB goes, it might be a little harder, but probably easier than 4x1GB.

Just noticed something: the 2nd one is cheaper even though it has lower latencies.

Why are you undecided?

EDIT

That's what i thought, but i was told different: 2 * 2 OCs harder then 4 * 1.

I was also wondering the difference in performance I would notice going from 4GB of ram to 2GB? I don't play any games, or rarely do, mostly use the machine for surfing the web, listening to music, chatting, and of course benchmarking.

You would notice longer "load times" in games. Also, your OS would be slower because Vista WANTS more RAM so, the more you have, the smoother it gets.

I had 2 kits of DHX corsair 2 * 1 GB 6400 CL4 but one was defective so i RMAed it. Meanwhile, i ordered a kit of DHX corsair 2 * 2 GB 8500 CL5 ...
