System Specs

Hey guys, I ran into a wall at 253HTT.. wouldn't post in all 1.2, 1.4 and OCW beta 3
252 wouldn't reboot
251 was stable

HTT multiplier was down to 3x (600) to remove it
CPU multiplier was at 8x (anything below resets after 1 reboot.. both bios'..another problem?)
Still well within bootable range
Memory capable of 250 at the timings but was divided to 3:5 so problem there..

Any ideas? Any additional info needed?

try setting memory to 100 mhz and see if that fixes it ..

Forgive me, it meant to say so *no* problem there. I had it running at 3:5 which is ~166MHz at 2.5-3-3-7 during testing. It is now running at 251MHz 2.5-3-3-7 Prime95 stable. So i don't imagine its a problem.
I did try to look for how to set to 100MHz.. Crazyrhino @ OCW forums said use windows based A64tweaker .31 ... to change bios?!!

I'd also like to confirm that CPU multipliers x6 and x7 are not available for my processor. I have found two other posts refering to cpus having their multipliers reset when at these values. One was a Venice ES 'engineering sample'. Mine is A Venice E6.

If i could get more voltage than 2.7 to my RAM i know it could keep up with me CPU at 3.0ghz but right now it doesnt have the juice to keep a stable 227mhz. I'm stable at my stock timings if i put a 133 divider at 3ghz and of course bump the CPU-NB speed down to 600.

If youre CPU-NB speed stays under 1000 with your overclock then you might just need more voltage to your core, thankfully the vcore mod was really easy to do.

as to my PSU its on my sig
hey i got the same CPU as you, so i think i could use your setting and try? what's your most stable setting before the vmod ?
how to determine the most efficient CPU-NB speed and how does it work?

thanks

you want the link between cpu and nb run at around 1000 mhz ..
on the board the bios lists frequencies not multipliers .. so 1000 mhz = x5, 800 mhz = x4, 600 mhz = x3 and so on

if you run at 250 mhz for example, the default of x5 would give you 1250 mhz, which is too high, so drop the multi to 4 (800 mhz setting) and you are back at 1 ghz ht

thanks thanks

also i am wondering what does tighting memory timing do? if i have cheap ram (Samsung (PC-3200) DDR400 ), am i better off just to leave the settings as AUTO? since i can't achive good timing with my ram?

auto will just select some timings based on what the board thinks is good for you .. play a bit with them and see how much performance you can gain .. 3dmark01 is a good real-world benchmark for memory performance (given you a modern video card which isnt limiting the benchmark)

anyone one could teach me how to run both AGP and PCI-E at the same time?
can i just plug the tv to the AGP (9800 xt), and plug LCD mon to PCI-E (x850 xtpe) for gaming?
how to config them in ATI controller? and how will the video drivers work?

is there any benefits and down sides on doing that?

i'm gonna point you in the same direction others pointed me in for any questions you have on this mobo: http://www.ocworkbench.com/ocwbcgi/u...Prune=0&r=actu You can find a thread on almost anything relating to this board there.
