System Specs

XFX 7800 GTX 512 MB 3DMark scores

With a default clock of 580/865MHz (1730MHz effective memory) the XFX 7800 GTX 512MB managed to pull a 9871 in 3DMark05 with an AMD X2 3800+. A little overclocking to 600/900MHZ will give you a nice 10K+ score. With a more powerful processor, you will easily get over the 10K mark at stock speeds. Now that’s nice, but the price of a speculated $799US is not so nice. Some picture at nvnews.net.

$800 dollar? $800 dollar! OMG that's $800 dollar!

Forget it... for that much you could sli two 7800GT's which would probably be faster.

I don't know if that price is true or not, that’s why I said "speculated". It was just stated on another article that it could cost that much. If so, it’s totally ridicules.

Yeah, I'm sure two GTX's would perform better in all new games and they'd probably be cheaper too! But if you put two of those things together??

You know you're saying dollar twice in one sentence don't you? It's like saying 800 dollar dollar!

Waste of money.

If you have $800 ready to go towards 1 video card, then you should smack yourself and donate whatever is left of it after you get a 7800GTX 256 for much cheaper.

HardwareOC.at has done some speculated/calculated (so nothing real world) performance for 7800GTX 512MB (german):

But it is a very big waste, and Nvidia said, if people buy them, then they are not to expensive. Thats bullshit, because people with too much money buy them, but the average person can't.
