Asus A7N8XE-Deluxe Q-Fan Control Not working - help

Hello All,

I use a Athlon XP Mobile 2400 chip running at 2346 Mhz (204 * 11.5) with 1GB of Corsair ValueSelect memory (2 *256 + 1*512). Everything in the machine works good. I only have problem with the Q-Fan Control setting with the Bios. I have enabled this and set it to 4sec/8sec option. When the machine boots it automatically reduces the CPU Fan speed from 2600 RPM to 2220 RPM and thus the noise is reduced considerably. It increases if the CPU speed is above 50C otherwise stay at low RPM. If the computer goes to Standby mode (S3 mode) and comes back up the fan speed is at full speed and doesn't reduce at all until I restart the machine. The Fan makes a lot of noise at this speed. Does anyone has the same issue, if so was it resolved. I have the latest BIOS.

Do I need to update the drivers?

Another solution for me is to buy external hardware that reduces the speed of the fan, but before doing so I just thought getting some advise would help.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

i stopped using q-fan control after some issues with the stock intel fan.
now with the g-power cooler i am controlling the fan through speedfan.its better i think without having to buy an extra panel.

Thanks. May be I should look for similar options. But is this Fan Issue anyway related to Drivers (update the Drivers from ASUS?)?
