Wireless problem help required...

Been trying to setup a wireless network now since saturday and having problems from day 1.
The major problems lie in the fact can't see any of the computers from either screen on the network to share files etc.
And i cannot access the internet from the cilent comp. I trust when 1 is resolved the other is also.
General info: The host runs AOL 9.0 BB on Platinum package, we got the Router off them a Speedtouch 576. The USB adapter is a Belkin both use 802.11g.
Both PC's use XP Home, both have SP2. The cilent runs Sygate pro firewall, while the host uses McAfee.

Now the cilent's connection to the router comes an goes, 1 sec its there next it can say limited or no activity. Even when its on can't see any PC, just says 'connected' an nothing more. Both PC's have same work group listed.
Following the instructions for trying to conenct to AOL on the cilent all u get is a:
[Router] DNS server unreachable or unavailable (24-10-08-033)

Says something bout firewall trouble but i have turned off both XP's and the sygate pro on the cilent an nothing. The firewall is also turned off on the host the XP default 1, but as far as i know from mcafee its allowing the connection, i could be wrong there.
The AOL website offered no help as did'nt the 'live' helpline. And tbh i am well an truly b0rked, networking an't my thing.
If need any more info i will be checkign this forum quite activly.
Anyone offer any advice or solutions would be much appreciated.
Thnx in advance

On the computers using sygate. In options under the network neighborhood tab, make sure both the "allow others to browse network neighborhood files and printers" and the "allow others to share my files and printers" boxes are checked. 802.11g can be disrupted by household appliances like wireless phones, microwaves, cell phones, etc. Make sure your access point is away as far away from these devices as possible.

Still same. I turned off mcafee on the host an put on the same version of Sygate. Both boxs in the sygate controls are ticked, still same msg.
On the little window that shows the access lvl from cilent to internet symbol its in 2 parts:
1st shows to Router, 2nd to net symbol. On the net symbol its jsut a X whereas other is a connection symbol.
I even treid turning off ALL firewalls off yet still same

Try looking for an option saying MTU Packet size in the router options, this should be set to 1400
