does the 8800gts and 9800gtx support physx
or is it only the 200 series

no lol. I guess it's just how nvidia wanted it in there latest driver release (selective cards) they tend to expand it to the entire 8 and 9 series. people been modding there drivers to support PhysX to be honest it isn't worth it considering Unreal Tournament III is the only blockbuster that utilizes it.
