Scythe Mini Ninja for Q6600

Hi folks. My new build will be:

Q6600 (will overclock but not a great deal)
HD3870 512mb GDDR4
2xSATA300 320gb HHDs
Couple of 120mm fans front and back.
Gigabyte GA-EP43-DS3L
4 gig PC8500 Ram

Am looking at the Mini Ninja for saving space. Will it be a substantial improvement over the stock Intel cooler please? Both in performance and noise.

Just about any aftermarket cooling solution will give a decent performance boost over stock when applied correctly.

i would think the mini would be too small, the Q6xxx series are serious heat factories, this will limit your overclocking if you intend to do so. I personally have a skythe revision B Ninja (large one) and it was just cutting it.

The xigmatek as FBi said or the original ninja. A quad just produces too much heat for that 80mm fan. A 120mm is a must.

It has more heatpipes and more area than the Intel stock cooler, and the stock Shuttle cooler, and they can both cool down a Q6600, and even take an OC, I would bet, so I can see this thing handling a Q66 just fine, but yes, you don't have the headroom for such a high overclock.
Most cases that use 120mm fans or larger will fit a full-sized Ninja, or most other coolers designed for use with 120mm fans, so unless you have hands that can't get to the push-pins, and you're worried about mounting the cooler, I would go for the full-sized coolers.

Thanks. That's the impression I get from a bit of Googling, it handles the Q6600 well until pushed by overclocking. I'm not overclocking and don't want a brick in me case so might go for it.
