Excellent review Pinchy. I knew it would only be a matter of time before we start to see other companies following Xigmateks lead with DHT technology. If possible, can we see a comparison with this coler and xigmatek? Thanks.

Text chapters are too long especially on 4th page and the first one on 3rd, makes it hard to read. A little edit (few enters) would be nice for this and to keep in mind for your next reviews.

Seems I skipped essential part of the text for above reason and had hard time understanding how blowing against flat surface cools

Yeah I just realised what happened there. I was using html tags when a simple "enter" was needed. I also did the exact opposite on the final page in the conclusion...used a simple enter space when I needed html code (breaks).

Oh well, its all fixed now

Nice cooler, excellent choice to "pimp" a rig and give it a decent overclock, especially with the smaller cpu's that are coming out Im sure you could probably do 4.0ghz with an e8500 and this cooler, plenty fast.

What happens is the fins have a design where they push the heat into a certain direction. So, the heat is moved into that area of the block of fins where there are no fins, as in the pic.

So then the fan sucks air into the heatsink, blowing air straight through it. This goes straight through that "empty" area of fins (where all the heat is meant to be trapped) and blows the heat all away.

It would be interesting to compare it with the fan strapped to the side of the cooler and not on top.

I reckon it wouldnt do as well. Personally, I think one of the great features of this cooler is that "chic" cover. If you have ever put a fan in a tunnel, you realise how much air it actually pushes out lol.
