Botched Paint Job removal?

How do you remove spray paint from annodized aluminum without damaging the aluminum's anno?

Anyone have some sure ideas?

Yep...and some spray paint comes off with denatured alcohol which is also pretty mild.

k, I'll go pick up some paint thinner tommorow, also, how do I dispose of the paint/thinner once I'm done?

but still.. isn't that bad for the environment? 0_0

I'm no greenpeace member but I don't want to do things that'll kll the envronment just because im lazy

what kind of paint was it? (enamel or lacquer) how long was it on the surface, was it baked in an oven or in sunlight?

duplicolor engine enamel...

and it was in sunlight for 1 day, now its been a few adys... I tried taking it off, but it didn't really work... I did however manage to get rid of some overspray that was around the edges, so this is still useful

I'll just redo the coat

On enamel I would try lacquer thinner (the solvents in lacquer thinner are stronger than enamel)

lacquer thinner works VERY well. it will eat soft plastics though. be careful if you decide to try it.
