4870 black screen problem
Hey all!
I just got my 4870 (YAY!  ) BUT! as soon as i install the drivers and reboot, my screen wont turn on when its about to show the login screen of vista.. Ive ben trying every solution i could find on the net, but none of em are working  What should i do?

Did you uninstall old drivers?

yeah, i did run the uninstaller first, then driver cleaner, then into safemode and driver cleaner again.. damn :\ i think i have to wait till the next driver release :\

The problem is your using DVI. Until they fix this issue you can only use VGA.

i found out :\ so i went to the nearest garbage container here in my town to get a vga cable
works great now  but huge different in colours on screen :\

That depends on what you mean with perform better on vga vs dvi.
When the driver is installed on my computer, i get no signal to my screen with a dvi cable, but works with vga. So wating for 8.8 drivers to get out or a 8.7 hotfix. But maan! Dvi has alot better color quality than vga! |

yeah, reason why i am asking is that my DVI is working fine even with the 8.7 drivers. i dont have a VGA input to test if its better.
