BattleField2, vsync
Does anyone know where the vsync option is, if there is one? I can't find it for my life, and I can't find a configuation program either.

IMO EA did a crappy job in the graphics department .Good luck but I found that going past what the game lets you only makes things worse. I forced AA & AF higher than the game allowed with CCC (max settings
) and everything went to shit. Important things disappeared like the ground and parts of structures. Vehicles were malformed and had spikes going off into the sky. Oh and the things that didn’t go to shit looked just as bad as before.

I played with my drivers some, and it made a little difference but not much. I'm not really that impressed with the graphics either.

Ohh I know I need more ram... I don't have max settings, medium and 6x AA 1024x768, thats its. I need a lot more ram really, hopefully get a 2GB kit for xmas. But there is tearing, so thats why I need vsync, just can't seem to find it, or it's not there at all (which is what I think).

I've had a search around for a while now about this Vsync option for Battlefield 2, problem is this; There is no ingame option what-so-ever within Battlefield 2, the only option is to force the Vsync to always-on.
Here is a thread I think may be of use to you to read, whether it is or not, I don't know I just hope you are able to get your tearing issue sorted out mate! http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/showt...ighlight=Vsync --Lee

Well after lots of playing around with settings and playing BF2, theres really not much difference. If anything, they're worse than before. Instead of getting lots of little tearing when looking at something close up, I get big tearing across the whole screen.

. Like the old saying "no matter how much you polish a turd it’s still a turd". EA really dropped the ball on this one. Well at least we still have several patches to look forward to .

I found they put a lot of detail in some things and little in others. It's a fun game and all, but some things the should have spent a little more time on.
Another thing I dislike about this game, the unlocking of weapons. It's a pain in the ass to get into ranked servers, and I get sick of using the same guns all the time. -Dan |

I hate how things flicker particularly windows. The problem is way worse when you fly. I see black spots that are usually worse on buildings. The firs time I saw them I thought my memory was artifacting. I find this rather annoying.

Yeah... Or when you fire a gun, the flash created by the gun is all cut up. The grass is pathetic, games that are 3 years old use the same design. Some of the trees aren't great either. Considering the game can take up to 1.6GB of ram, I don't know what it uses it on.
It seems also that the game was tailored a little towards Nvidia cards (guessing at this because the demo had the Nvidia thingy, and the game came with a buch of Nvidia ads). But it is still a lot of fun. ![]() -Dan |

Vsync
The refresh rates are listed next to the resolution on the video settings area of Battlefield 2.
For example if you look you will see: 1280x1024@75hz 1280x1024@80hz 1280x1024@85hz (just examples) |
