All of the IDE inputs on my old MoBo failed, if i get a PCI IDE controller card would I be able to boot off of it from the bios or would i only be able to use it through the operating system.

You probably wouldn't need any special drivers or anything as long as it was a simple card. What are you trying to do?

I'm going to have to boot off of a windows cd thru the card and be able to install windows to a hard drive connected to the card.

I don't think you will have any problems. I would call the company and ask just in case, before you buy it. Wouldn't hurt and you can usually call the sales department rather than tech support.

Should have no problems at all. Just make sure you use at least a Windows XP with SP2 installer or "greater than".
