Faster Opterons sighted near the SUN
Sad but true: SUN is the only company at the very moment that has the deal with AMD to put the fastest Opterons (model: 285 SE, speed: 2.60GHz) into their servers. It appears that these Opterons aren't compatible to current Socket 940 motherboards "due to higher thermals and, possibly, voltages" Anton Shilov at XbitLabs posted.
