ZOTAC Unleashes Silent GeForce 9500 GT

ZOTAC International (MCO) Ltd., a leading NVIDIA partner, today announced the two latest additions to its silent ZONE Edition product lineup – the ZOTAC GeForce 9500GT DDR2 and GeForce 9500GT DDR3 ZONE Editions. The new ZOTAC GeForce 9500GT ZONE Editions pair the high-performance of NVIDIA’s GeForce 9500GT graphics processor with passive cooling for a silent graphical computing experience. The ZOTAC GeForce 9500GT DDR2 and GeForce 9500GT DDR3 ZONE Editions eliminate noise from the graphics card by replacing the active GPU cooler on ZOTAC GeForce 9500GT DDR2 and GeForce 9500GT DDR3 models. In place of the active GPU cooler is a large passive cooler that allows the ZOTAC GeForce 9500GT ZONE Editions to operate silently.

"We sought to eliminate noise from our affordable ZOTAC GeForce 9500GT DDR2 and DDR3 models,” said Carsten Berger, marketing director, ZOTAC International (MCO) Ltd. “Our ZOTAC GeForce 9500GT ZONE Editions are the result, and shows users can have a premium silent high-performance graphics card at an affordable price.”

As with the other NVIDIA GeForce 9500GT-based products, the ZOTAC GeForce 9500GT ZONE Editions feature NVIDIA’s unified architecture with 32 blazing-fast stream processors. The 32 stream processors are paired with 512MB of high-speed GDDR2 or GDDR3 graphics memory, connected via 128-bit wide bus to keep up with the demands of 3D gaming.

“Our ZOTAC GeForce 9500GT ZONE Editions are no compromise silent graphics cards,” Mr. Berger added. “We’re able to offer performance that matches our standard ZOTAC GeForce 9500GT DDR2 and DDR3 models while operating silently.”

In addition to high-performance, the ZOTAC GeForce 9500GT ZONE Editions feature a second-generation PureVideo HD video-processing engine, making the cards ideal solutions for digital home applications such as home theater PCs. PureVideo HD technology enhances and cleans up all digital video content for optimal viewing on high-definition displays up to Full HD 1080p resolutions.

PureVideo HD technology is also ideal for watching high-definition content such as Blu-ray and HD DVD movies. The PureVideo HD video-processing engine decodes high-definition H.264 content, typically used by Blu-ray and HD DVD movies, completely using the GPU to free up the CPU for more mundane tasks. High-definition VC-1 encoded content also receives hardware accelerated decoding with the PureVideo HD video-processing engine, for low CPU utilization during playback.

The ZOTAC GeForce 9500GT ZONE Editions also feature HDMI output via included DVI-to-HDMI adapter and S/PDIF audio input so users can connect any S/PDIF capable audio device to the graphics card for simultaneous audio and video output. Additionally, the dual dual-link DVI outputs, HDMI included, are HDCP complaint, allowing users to view protected high-definition content, when connected to an HDCP capable display.

Prepare for a gaming and multimedia experience that’s big on performance, easy on the wallet and silent in operation with the ZOTAC GeForce 9500GT ZONE Editions.

"high-performance of NVIDIA’s GeForce 9500GT graphics processor"

I hate marketing. You could go buy a geforce 5 series card and I bet they could pretty the thing up with enough marketing to make the uninformed buyer think it's faster than a GTX280.

That's why, if you're not a geek, make real sure one of your friends is.

Zotac didn't declare its price yet.

The ddr3 versions are decent. Glad to see they are making these cards passive.

I'm kinda scared that Zotac 'Unleashed' this card. They might want to leash it back up cause it headed for a cruise on the fail boat.

This may not sound like much for the most of user, but it does sound significant for casual gamers and media enthusiasts since they don't want a banshee rig lol.
