GMail Anti-Virus - Powered by Sophos

A few days ago Google announced a virus-scanner for their e-amil service GMail
But because didn't reveal what anti-virus software they will be using, a blogger has taken the challenge of finding out.

By testing several malware against known databases and against the GMail service, he has determined that Sophos is behind the GMail Anti-virus.

Pretty interesting.
I wonder why Google didn't want to tell which AV powers GMail ?
