Serious hardware incompatibility - Maxtor harddisks and nForce 4
Owners of a new Maxtor DiamondMax 9/10 SATA II harddisk then you should immediately move the jumper on it's back to force SATA I speed. It came to the attention of NGOHQ.com and the german ComputerBase that there are compatibility isses that can cause serious loss of data (system crashes, sudden reboots and so on). At this time the models „6V300F0“ and „6V250F0" are affected for sure. You could either wait for your motherboard maker to present a fixed BIOS or hope that Maxtor releases a firmware upgrade.

I tend to stay away from maxtor. They are the cheapest for a reason. Stick with samsung or seagagte and you're good.
