Sounds good. My heavily OCed 8600GT would do a little over 5k.

That's a good score with an 8600gts.
I only get 6800 on my overclocked 2900gt, single core cpu.

sorry if i sound like an asshole - but its a shame to pair such an uber cpu with such a low end graphics card....

you could say the same about my rig - I dont have a quad core cpu but i score a lot higher then you (spec left)

id say if u really cared about your 3d bench scores grab a 9600GT or something at least

the 8600 still holds its own i wouldnt bash it it has way more oc potental than todays cards when modded besides he's slowely upgrading some people dont have the cash to go out and buy a new mobo CPU ram and card in one swing.

ok - fair point. but my score is higher (i think its a tad over 9k 3D06) & I dont exactly have any fancy gear myself.

If u want screenies just ask

::EDIT::

not sure if 3d06 supports quad but I still expect scores to be a little bit higher

The op may need the cpu for processing power, but the 8600gts is still a decent card for moderate gaming. Maybe he doesn't game much.

Also you've got a really nice gpu which I believe accounts for a large chunk of the 3Dmark score.

Freedom dude, this is not a contest of who scores higher in 3dMark06 .

This is me just trying to score as high as possible with 8600GTS .

Also why i have paired this card with quad core is because I sold off 2 x HD4850 and a 9600GT because i needed money for college .

Who cares about benchmarks? If you dont game your epenis can be as big as it wants with your Intel QX98454 with 34GB of L12 Cache and 28 cores @ 37.2Ghz, your rig is a waste lol

get CoD4 and get yourself on multiplayer!!!!!!!
