Corsair Launches Flash Voyager 64GB USB Flash Drive

If you think 32GB is big enough for a flash drive, than think again. Corsair is doubling this space to 64GB today with the release of its latest Flash Voyager 64GB USB flash drive. This drive boasts the same old rugged, stylish, compact, and reliable Voyager design we all love (even I use one of these, the 8GB model). It's only more storage capable and maybe bigger than the 32GB, 16GB, 8GB and 4GB models already available on the market. As all Voyagers, the 64GB model comes pre-loaded with the company's TrueCrypt application and 10-year warranty. The drive is available now for pre-order from NCIX.com for $205.65 and cconline for £149.99.

Nice size flash drive. Wish I could afford one. I hate how flash drives come preinstalled with crap on it. Id rather not having anything on it other than my data. My Sandisk came with crap on it and i used their utility to take it off.

Nice capacity. Ugly design. Anyone else think that a little of Apple's Design Team would really help improve the look of the average USB flash drive.

Corsair scores on the doors:
+1 for capacity
+1 for price (I think the price is pretty good for such capacity, $3 per GB)
-3 for design.

I have an 8GB Voyager GT which I use constantly from transfering files between work and home.
Works great, and it's fast enough for large files (500M - 1G).
The only thing I didn't like was that the cap was not attached to the device (and had no loop so you could attach something yourself). Yup, I lost it.

If you wait about 6 months, this things will probably be about $50.

I've got a 2gb one that I'm always using. It would probably take a while to fill it up. These don't write that fast. The design is actually kinda nice. I like the whole case being rubberized.
I don't know about $50 but probably closer to $100. Their 32gb one is about $100 right now.

oh and for some reason corsair doesn't brand the firmware because all of the ones i have seen come up as a "generic USB drive" in windows any ideas on that

i was actually thinking of buying the 8gb model as its dirt cheap ,but im wary as ive had 2 other flash drives ,not Corsair and they both died within a few mnths.
I hope Corsairs is a bit more reliable.

Could just be yours -- mine comes up as "Corsair" in Windows and Linux.

Afaik TrueCrypt is a 3rd party freeware/opensource application that has nothing to do with Corsair (except that their are shipping the flash drive with it)

Haha, that's why I laughed when I saw the picture for this one. I have a 4GB version myself (very happy with it for under $20) and kept finding myself wondering "where the hell did I leave the cap for this thing?" every other time I used it. When I had to RMA it after a whoopsie on my part I also noticed the FAQ on their support page had a section dedicated to lost caps and how to send off for a new one. So it's nice to see this version seems to come with a chain attached.

I have a 8GB Voyager. Not a bad flash drive at all. But I also have a 16GB Patriot XT. That thing is a beast. Much faster then my Voyager, despite being a larger drive. I would love to have a 64GB version of it, but the Voyager would do as a second choice.

Sure there are some that are faster than others. Some don't even get near the USB2.0 limits. My voyager does about 23MB/s Read, my Patriot does 32.
