been there for a while, just have to hope it's not a faulty one (which you likely will get a faulty one) as the first round of those ROG X2s had probs
 the one I had an sold to SV wasn't one

newegg open box items are usually dead boards/cards/cpu's/ram that the person rma'ed and they re-listed, call them and ask, they DO NOT test them they just re list them.

I'm Using One Right Now
It is not a dead board and neither have been the 4 Radeon 4850s and the 4870 I got open box recently, too. In my experience it is either user error or just incompatibility issues most of the time that cause returns.

I can see it now. I'm sitting in my underwear in front of an 80" 4:3 image at 1024 * 768 120hz playing a game with my stereoscopic 3D glasses glistening in the reflected light of the image on the screen with 5000 watts of audio blasting and my hair standing up on end as I realize that it is really as my mom has stated; I really am just like Dr. Emmett Brown.

On RMA, they test them for functionality. From their open box return policy:
