I'm not trying to sound cheap, but is that the biggest monitor you can get for such a low price? I want a flat screen bad and that price is jaw dropping.

probably. brand new the cheapest i've seen for 19in "off brands" is $139 on sale. thats a rock bottom price for them

so $54 even for a used or refurbished average 20in monitor is ridiculously low. if refurbished i wonder what grade it is?

i have a refurbished 22in monitor. its great so far

You mean like the fact that there's none available?

lol, that price is pretty damn crazy. If 20" LCDs did higher resolutions (1900x1200 possibly?), I would definitely pick one up at that price. But I just don't want to try and adapt to using a resolution significantly lower than my current 2048x1536.

Won't it not be a factor in going blind soon seeing so small letters in such a small area - 1900x1200 - in 20"

? small letters ?

No, you select 120dpi in display control panel... and all of a sudden your text is the same size but rendered with 50% more pixels = MUCH LESS LIKELY to get you blind, looks a 100x better.

I'm still waiting for 2560x1600 in a 20" format. That would be a winner.

I run 2048x1536 on a 21" CRT . . . and I use it from my bed, so the screen is even farther away from my face. I usually don't have any trouble reading text unless it's a small font to begin with, then I either lean forward or use a screen magnifier on the text.
