So, How's Crysis Warhead?

Does it still run pretty much like Crysis?

I may buy it, but i dont know how well it would run on my system, I may need a better video card(at some point i may get a GTX 260 when i get some cash)

Hopefully its not like the original Crysis(i still have the SP demo installed and i get about 20 FPS when nothings really going on, but if there are explostians every where and the physics start kicking in when i hit a building it would alot of the time drop to 8 FPS.

Hopefully Crysis Warhead works well.

Warhead runs alot better. I can max it and it runs fine. The online is really optimized tho, I can max that and get 50-70fps.

That's good to hear. I was really hoping they would focus more on the not so highend systems and more for the ''i am not rich, but i still want to play the game'' type people.

I enjoyed the Singler-player a lot! The game runs better, and looks better. The online is much better, and I've been playing that plenty(Just had to stop, net is acting up again). It is worth the $30 Imo.

It runs nice and smooth, you could probably run at medium settings with ease. My only criticism is that it's a bit short. I've yet to play the multiplayer mode, but all in all I'd say it's worth the $30.

Sykes mod is the game...aka you play as Sykes, and the game is a Stand-alone mod. Second, the poor performance is probably due to the out-dated 7950GX2.

SP was short but really fun. But wow is the multiplayer good. I remember playing MP in the first one and it was not fun at all. It was frustrating, laggy as hell, ran like garbage and was full of cheaters. Crysis Wars is the opposite and is totally awesome. The new maps are really cool especially Peak and Treehouse. Even the Power Struggle mode is really fun now.

Om off to play some more.

SP was outstanding. Superb. Yes, short, but this was not unknown.
MP I just tried yesterday for about 30min, TIA on Battleground. It was improved for sure.
I found though this map/mode was about 90% vehicle/missile combat. Not bad, but imho kind of meh.
I really liked PS from Crysis1 so I'll be sticking my grill in there more.

Well second play through, definately too short, looks great, but I still think the original is better, not only that but I could chose to use DX9 in the original, but now I can't. It's DX10 only for Vista users (unless someone knows how to disable it?)

I'm certain you can edit the options in the config files manually, start looking if you don't find anything I'll see what I can dig up when I get home.

It's possible, not played with them yet, but I will. It looks gorgeous in DX10, but during the snow levels my performance can cut drastically.

too short if you ask me. And ALOT easier than the original. Big dissapointment for me if i be honest. Havent played the mp yet but i will later. Just seems "ok" for me, not the amazing thing the original was.

Oh, and i had to run at mainstream level to get playable framerates too, which sucked. Damn GT

Really? This is what I meant about not being able to disable DX10. On the original I had a 3870 and was playing at high settings at 1280x1024. your 8800GT and CPU are more powerful, so Warhead would be perfectly playable if we could reenable DX9.

i have no clue why it was so sluggish. Especially on the hovercraft section, bloody hell, i had to take it down to minimal.
