System Specs

Revamping Idea: System Specs

I would like to introduce multiple system specifications. Multiple system specs would allow users to post about their multiple systemsin their system specifications, instead of having to waste signature space to display their information (being tech enthusiasts, many of us have multiple systems). Also, you can see that i added some additional categories, which would help make the system specifications look better. also, another possibility is the ability to put benchmarking information too, as many people like to show these off.

--multiple system specs concept.

Also, there should be a benchmark row, its not just in the picture.

Please vote, and if you like the idea, please leave a comment/feedback and a thanks. Lets make TPU better!

interesting idea, most of my other systems aren't worth the signature space, but if we had something like that, I would surely add them in

It's interesting...but by far not required imo.

I have no issue with how I currently have mine setup...and if I add another it will be in my sig.

That is an interesting option, but whether or not it's worth the effort to accomplish.

Definately interesting! I'm curious to see if anything becomes of this. Nice idea man.

if we can get enough of tpu to request it, and vote yes, we should be able to convince the admins that its worth while to update the system specs so those of you that really want it, promote it!

Wouldn't be the mods doing this I believe, but the admin, i.e. W1z, I could be wrong tho. But if we get staff support, it may fly...just depends on what would need to be accomplished on the admin side of this forum to allow us to have multi-system-specs.

It would be a good thing for many tho!

a coding genius like w1zz could do this easily, the problem is, we have to make it worthwhile for him to put this on his to-do list. and this is how we do it, if we can get a big percentage of tpu to vote yes, then it might prove to be worthwhile for w1zz/urlyin to look into.

Agreed pancho! Well it seems to be a pretty good idea overall..hopefully like I said before, something comes of it and we have a new TPU Forums feature to play with that's also very handy!

i talked to w1zz about this kind of thing a long time ago, and the result was (at the time) it was impossible for the forum code to handle it. Maybe its changed, but it may not be possible.

I voted yes, though it may be outside the realm of possibility. I could easily add three systems to my specs.

it should work, it bascially the same thing as what it is before, just with an extra level. i know that with dhtml/js, which is what a lot of cascading menu's/dropdown's are made from, its quite easy to add a new level to an already existing framework.. so i dont think coding is that ridiculously hard, it is, once again, a question of whether or not w1zz/urlyin find it worthwhile to go through the trouble, and of course this thread is here to presuade them

+1 as well, I like the idea; it would also unclutter people's specs who have managed to squish in two or three system details into one box...

I believe w1z said is was a plug-in that gives us the system specs, and that the plug-in doesn't support it. He would have to code his own plug-in from scratch if that was the case.

Either way, I'm completely indifferent.

I'm all for it, but remember, W1zzard is in charge of us, not the other way around. If he wants to do it great, if not that's fine too.
