Super Talent to Produce 16GB, 32GB and 64GB SSDs for ASUS Eee PC
Super Talent posted a press release this morning, informing everyone that it is starting a new line of SSDs, available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB capacities, that are designed specially for the ASUS Eee PC. Judjing from the three sizes, these will be intended for the latest Eee PC S101 netbooks, ASUS introduced last weekend. The new Eee PC SSDs are mini PCIe and offer reasonable read/write rates of 40/15 MB/sec respectively. The drives are sampling now, and will enter mass production in November. Super Talent lists the expected street price at $53, $79, and $149 for the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models.

whoa. those speeds.....
Actually, that's really decent. It's too bad I like the 160 gig HD in my current 1000H. I'd get one if it had faster read/write than a desktop hard drive, that way I could use it for swap. I honestly wouldn't mind paying $50 for an 8 or 4 gig SSD if it meant it was going to be fast fast fast.

cheap yes, but a read/wright speed of 40/15 mbs dosnt make it that useful for a everyday pc (if it was possible to be used in one)

I was kind of hoping with these prices, it would be more affordable for every day use, if nothing else, for your OS. However, if what rampage says is true for the speeds, doesnt make it earth shattering.

Would be cheap if it wasn't for the US economy and the rest of the world screwing over =_=...
I'd love the 64GB model though.
