external USB HDD not recognized by XP
I'm having an issue with my WD My Book 250GB external drive. It is not being detected by XP. When i plug it in all the lights on the drive itself and the lighted USB cable light up but i get a message saying that a USB device is not recognized after Windows detects new hardware. Or it says that there was an eror during installation and the device may not function properly. It was working fine about a month ago, last time i did a backup. I installed all the software that came with it a long time ago. Any idea how to fix this? Or is my drive dead?
