Is my computer just not cutting it anymore

I'm wondering how pertinent it is to upgrade when the new deneb's come out??

I'm working with this right now, can you guys tell me if i'll make it a till like may or so or are the new games just going to be too much for my system??

Amd 5000 black edition 3.48Ghz 290x12
4x1 gig ddr2 @870 4,5,5,12,2t
2x7200.11 seagate 320's
2x eVGA 8800gts 512's in sli @785/1944/2080
Asus M2N32 sli deluxe bios 1802

i'm thinking of upgrading but i have other things i need to be putting my cash towards and i'm not sure i'll be able to right away... for gaming how is this gonna do for me for another 6-8 months??

Are you satisfied with your gaming experience now? If so, don't upgrade. Maybe a faster processor, but everything else should be just fine.

What resolution you game at? The 2 GTS's should be fine for most non-Crysis games. The best systems want more FPS in Crysis.

You'll be fine man...I think you're overexaggerating the inevitable of your system's becoming too low end for modern games. If your setup with 4GB of ram, a dual core processor and SLI 8800GTS 512's can't game, then we need to be asking the dev's wtf.

You'll be fine man...I see no reason why you needed to start this thread imo (no offense), your system is fine. Don't base it off of Crysis performance, not every game that comes out will follow it's footsteps in performance issues...I'm curious to see how FarCry2 looks and performs, I'm sure it'll have bugs and ATI has already released driver patches for improved performance in it, I'm sure NV will release drivers with optimizations for that game too. That's the how things go. It seems more modern games are released less optimized and more buggy than ever dissapointingly enough...but I wouldn't be too worried if I were you either way...your system is powerful, it doesn't need to be worth 5 grand for good gaming...yours is more than capable in just specs alone to squash any recommended specs out there imo.

It's fine. Look at my system, I only bought it a few months ago (then again it was only AU$999) and I know it can't run Crysis but I'm still perfectly fine with it. Then again I don't do much gaming.

If you're satisfied with it and it does what you want it to do, then you shouldn't bother upgrading

IMo, your system will beat the snot out of mine. Not in benchmarks, but in gaming, absolutely. You look fine to me, I would stick with it.

thanx jc, i appreciate it and for all the input, things are ok with it right now, it's zippy or so it feels, i just want to hold out till like march-april before i rebuild just so i don't early adopt the new phenom and i can put the right amount of cash into the thing that's all.

Your system is fine for gaming.

Should play FC 2 well.
