sata Raptor reading as IDE ?

Hey folks

I just recently bought a 36GB Raptor from nflesher87 and it seems as though Windows is identifying it as an IDE drive and HD Tach is also reading it as a regular ATA drive as opposed to sata.

How can I get it to be recognized as a sata drive ?

My MoBo is an Asus A8N-SLI Premium and it is presently the only operational drive in the case as I've unplugged my IDE drive as Windows was constantly trying to identify my D: (IDE) drive as the boot drive.

its normal.. the motherboard emulates it as ide because when xp and all were written, sata wasn't around.. so if you plugged a regular sata drive into windows xp.. xp would be like:

WTF is this shit?!?!?! WTF is a SATA drive? CRAP... what do i do? oh well, i'm outta ideas. *BSOD*

but if you plug in a sata drive emulated as ide, xp does this:

yayz! another hdd to use. Mount it as drive D and start operation: install bloated spyware.

What apps read the drive as, doesn't matter. Verify its transfer rate using HD Tach, HD Tune, etc.,

Go thru this thread: http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=68546

Compare your average transfer rate to other single Raptors using the said app. If it falls within a reasonable range, there's nothing to complain about.
