Motherboard Upgrade HELP!

For the moment im not interested in the new Nehalem CPU's, i will be upgrading to this in the future once all the kinks have been fixed and if theres any to be fixed.

I currently own a Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R, and i was wondering if its a smart move to move on up to: GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3R. If i do move on up will i notice any improvements in anything ?

Also Besides the motherboard what is my biggest bottleneck from my setup (which can be viewed on the left side bar under System Specs)

Thank you.

I don't see any bottlenecking or anything wrong with the rig. I like it the way it is TBH. I say save your $$ for your next build.

I think your current set up is pretty nice. Since your not overclocking the CPU anyways you wouldn't notice any significant preformance jumps.

I would say your gpu is the only bottleneck in the crowd. The 8800 series are so yesterday(gay hand flip). If it preforms well at your resolution then there's no need to upgrade. I would say upgrade the gpu now to a Ati 4k series card or a GTX 2x0. This will help when you have the $$$ to upgrade your entire mobo/cpu set up.

Now about that e6850 @ stock, we need to have that that at least 3.3~3.8GHz for some preformance boosts. Your ram can handle it, so can your PSU, your CPU cooler should be good as well.
Have you overclocked the cpu? If so what have you found to be the best frequency? Generally a P45 will provide a higher CPU FSB for the overclocking enthusiast.

My 8800 series does suck compared to a ATi 4850, i might look into this. But i can play games at 1680x1050 with high everything and sometimes 2x AA or 4AA depends on the game.

As for overclocking, i think i took my CPU to 3.6Ghz once and it was pretty stable, and the ram i had it on a 1:1 ratio, besides that im not really good in overclocking, even after reading countless multiple threads on overclocking. If you can help i would greatly appreciate it.

you would notice nothing in the way of performance from upping to a mobo like that!

I really don't see any bottleneck issues with your current build. It's really debatable if the p45 chipset offers any performance increase over p35. You may get a slightly higher fsb, but the sacrifice may be memory speed, as in all my experience and research I've found that p35 handles memory better than p45 boards. If anything, I'd either move up to a 260gtx or 4870 video card. If you insist on making a motherboard upgrade, I'd say go x38 or x48.

Rather then upgrading Mobo upgrade CPU or ur gpu. For cpu you can get an E8400/8500 and for gpu you can step up to a 4850 or 9800GTX

Well Today i made my first attempt to overclocking, all i really did is set the ram to 1:1 ratio and i up the cpu FSB to 400Mhz, now im overclocked to 3.6ghz with a good timing of orthos running straight for 3hours and 30mins without a problem, and temperatures were as high as 62c.

Heres the image:

well im really not experienced in the OC section, but i tried it once at 3.8Ghz and it rebooted constantly, i only let it boot 2 times before i set the settings back to normal, i can probably set it to 3.8Ghz without touching anything else and it might work, but then again i wish not risk it without some expert help.

I saw the 3.6 is much better on stock voltage for your oc'ing abilities. It appears that your 3.6 is stable and even at 60C it's a tad high, but not overkill.
Its a moderate 20% overclock on stock, which is fine.

You'll see more preformance from overclocking your cpu than simply upgrading your mobo. Like Paulig said, there may be some FSB increase but it may hit your memory preformance. I would work with your BIOS and learn as much about each setting/read forums about your mobo's overclocking potential to gain as much knowledge on what is in your reach.

If you can I would address the cooling option if you want to take it further. Perhaps running another case fan? If you want help with overclocking your system I would post up a new thread in the Overclocking section and there are pleanty of people to help provide you the basic steps forward and even into the more advanced steps.

you also mentioned adding another cooling fan, well i just recently noticed that i have all 3 fans on my antec 900 in the LOW settings, i did this for quietness. Im sure if i put them in Medium or High settings the decrease in temperature will be huge.

Not that huge probably 5C or 10C (I consider this a low dcrease). The temps are fine at this moment so if u prefer quiet stick with it.
